Assists paratransit operators in the provision of stair-assist passengers and other non-driving responsibilities of the paratransit bus operator. Assists disabled passengers. Ensures the highest quality of paratransit bus service is delivered to the company’s customers.
Assists drivers in inventorying, placing and storing securement devices and straps during pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle.
Apply proper bending, lifting processes to assist maneuvering passengers in mobility devices safely up and down stairs
Assist driver provide passenger service for boarding and deboarding, including proper and safe use of wheelchair lift, securement of mobility devices, attaching seat and/or posey belts
Assist driver serve passenger with getting to and from the vehicle from the door of their origin/destination
Arrives and signs in on time; works hours as scheduled; wears clean, neat uniforms
Accurately completes all reports required
Follows rules and regulations of the Company; follows instructions of management and supervisors
Adheres to all regulations related to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); assists passengers as needed, to enter and exit vehicle safely; correctly operates wheelchair lift with proper safety restraints as requested by the customer and/or required by the company
Provides transit information to passengers as needed; providing friendly, professional customer service interaction
Maintains confidentiality of passengers’ information

Skills and Knowledge Required:
Ability to read, understand, and interpret transit system operating rules, regulations, policies, phases and routes
Ability to assist handicapped passengers when needed
Travel requirement (as a percent): 100% of time is spent in the field
Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
Primarily seated in vehicle; stress caused by passengers and traffic; must be able to get in and out of the vehicle to assist passengers; some pulling and stretching required when assisting disabled
Must be able to work in all types of weather
